I agree with your rating! It was interesting that one of the victims described the monster as a dragon

I'm looking forward to seeing it. My favorite werewolf movies are The Howling, An American Werewolf In London (of course😁), Wolfen, Wolf, and Ginger Snaps to name a few. Great review as usual.

Dog Soldiers, Howl, and Cursed (for the laughs).

It's interesting that both Cursed and The Cursed are both werewolf movies.

Saw the movie this evening, came home and went straight to this video 😂 I have not seen a lot of werewolf movies but in my opinion, it was missing a lot of generic werewolf elements. I also agree that the lack of realism in the beast took away from the horror element, if it doesn’t feel real to me, it just isn’t scary. One of the main side plots that really got lost was this scarecrow figure, curious what you thought of that. Great video!

Just got home from the movie. Also just stumbled across your channel, you have a new subscriber! You have such a warm smile and you radiate your passion for film. I thought the aesthetic of the film was definitely great. I couldn't agree with you more about some of the plot points and backstories falling flat. I'm pulling this one from the annals of my mind... I LOVED The Howling 3: The Marsupials. Much love from New York 🗽

Whoever changed the title from Eight For Silver to The Cursed should be fired immediately.

First time seeing your material and you did a good job recapping the movie. I saw this yesterday and the film was uncomfortable and eerie without relying on jumpscares to frighten you. I think horror is starting to hit a second golden era over the past several years. I think this movie was aesthetically beautiful and the actors and actresses were on the ball. I think there were a few details that weren't as fleshed out, and am not sure how they could've fleshed it out. With that being said, I think this might be a movie that will gain traction later on. I loved this different take on werewolves and the Romani/Christian lore that they've included in it. Definitely a good start for horrors and wouldn't mind seeing more from this universe if they get the opportunity. Great content!

This sounds great. I’ve added it to my list and will look forward to checking it out. AWIL is definitely the best werewolf movie of all time, but I love what you’re saying about a different kind of approach.

The film was ok to watch, very basic and formulaic but enjoyable. Things I noticed (spoilers ahead):
- I liked the scene of children discovering the teeth
- the attack on gypsies was really brutal, hard scenes to watch
- Seamus, the husband, was so one dimensional (strict guy) that I didnt care for him.
- I felt chemistry between Isabelle and John. Plus in two scenes, each had a semi nude scene, which portayed them more as sexy . The fact that the husband was so bland, made me think those two would end up together.
- The beast was ok ( I liked when it turned up at church gate), but attack scenes were chaotic
- The village woman/maid story should be made into one, we had repeat of the same situation.
- I dont care about dream sequences, and there were many of them.

If you like this movie i suggest watching Brotherhood of the Wolf. Very similar film in terms of look and feel and era setting. And imo a superior film. This may be a B - film but Brotherhood of the Wolf is proabably a B+ or A-. The cinematography, setting and feel is very reminiscent of Sleep Hollow (the Johnny Depp and Cristina Ricci version). Good horror film imo.

Does the movie seem to portray Romani people in a negative light? And just a heads up, "gypsy" is considered a slur for Romani people.

I seen this yesterday. I liked it. I didnt really like the look of the werewolf. I thought the ww1 opening was cool and a different way to start this type of movie
