Using a vibrating multitool you can find cheap at harbor freight or using a utility knife and putty knife, separate the glass from the frame. This was a new 1yr old panel so it might be harder on older panels.

Techno Snacks, YOU DA MAN! I watched this thinking there’s NO WAY you can do that WITHOUT shattering the glass. So I figured I’d go the safe route and use utility knife and hacksaw blades. NEVER AGAIN! I’m going with the Techno Snacks method for the rest of my windows. Saving a couple thousand $$$$ is great, learning how to make it easier thanks to your video, even GREATER!

thanks, I need to clean the inside of some of mine, I suppose I can use the same stuff car window companies use to install windscreens to reattach after cleaning off the old sealant

It’s a hell of a lot easier to make the initial cut as shown in the video and clean up afterwards with a knife, than to do the whole thing with a knife.

Great video tip and apologies for bringing up such an old video, but I assume you cleaned the inner panes of the IGU and put the pane back in service. Did you leave the IGU unsealed, and if so, how long did the inner panes stay somewhat clear until you had to clean them again? I would be surprised if you resealed the IGU, but in the unlikely case you did, did you reuse the metal spacers and buy a fresh tube of black IGU sealant caulking? If going this more difficult route I assume you heated the water absorbing powder in an oven for an hour and added the powder back in so that it could once again absorb humidity?

Excellent tip. Would heating the seal help the black thing come off easier? I don't have that vibrating thingy.
