With this video, we turn to a theology of the Holy Spirit with the hope of a deepened understand of how the Holy Spirit work in and through us to bring God’s love into the world.
How does the Holy Spirit guide us along a “middle course” or a “graceful way, where we avoid extremes that cause harm?
According to John Wesley, how does the Holy Spirit help us to avoid the two big dangers – mere formality and the wildness of enthusiasm. How are these dangers defined? How does the Holy Spirit keep us from becoming “presumptuous self-deceivers and from falling into the “dreadful illusion?” How does the Holy Spirit help us to be “patience with contradictions?”
From this Wesleyan perspective, why are we to focus more on the ordinary blessings of the Holy Spirit given to all rather than the extraordinary blessings of the Spirit given to a few. What are the fruits of the Spirit given to all?
What thoughts were sparked by the stories from the funeral at an Assembly of God church?
How does the Holy Spirit move us through common stages of a spiritual journey – the natural, the legal, and the evangelical stages. Does your story resonate with this divine method?
How is “self-examination” a part of our witness and a part of the on-going work of the Holy Spirit in our lives?
