The 10min rule really does help. I have been using it to build the habit of showing up at the gym. I tell myself I am only going for 10 min. It has made a difference in my showing up. I am doing this to build the habit of going to the gym. I show up I work out for 10min I go home. I am starting to see success in my ability to show up. I will incrementally increase the time as the habit is formed for me.

This his home! My task list is mixed with tasks and projects causing a feeling of being overwhelmed, leading to really not getting anything done. Great video!

There is an other way to consume productivity videos : as a compagnonship to do smthg. When I feel lazy and don't want to clean and tidy my home, I watch a YouTube video of cleaning content in the same time I do my laundry or wash the dishes. Same for productivity content, it can help to not feel lonely when boring tasks are coming : administrative papers, groceries lists and budgets, ...

Momentum is such a great concept. This is why I can't eat the frog, ever. I need appetizers and once I'm in flow, nothing can stop me. But also, telling my brain I'll work for 10 minutes and then I can use the rest of that 15 or 30 min period to do whatever I want. The thing is, often the flow that kicks in feels really good, so I keep going. But it's important not to trick your brain ALL the time. Once or twice a day I'll it for the break instead and just good around for 20 minutes. That's all right too. The idea of constant productivity is really toxic and only creates unrealistic expectations and shame.

Lol. I was just thinking of this...all this work to set up planners/goals, etc. and nothing to actually include in them since spending so much time setting them up...

Separating tasks and projects -> brilliant! As you are -> brilliant! Thanks so much for providing a much-needed life-line of clarity amidst a sea of planning content.

This video is amazing! When you broke tasks and projects it was like a light bulb went off in my head! I'm an Admin Assist and I've been struggling with organizing and procrastinating.

This simple explanation was definitely a "wow" moment/wake up call for me. Thank you so much!!

A lightbulb went off understanding task list vs project list. THANK YOU! 💡

good video but I wanna jump in and suggest that the 'no podcasts no youtube no music with words' advice depends on the task - I think it's fine (and good!) when the task you're doing isn't language-focussed - eg. cleaning, drawing, painting a wall...

I feel so called out 😂😂😂

Actually this was extremely helpful. I realize now that if I’m procrastinating on something, it’s because I haven’t broken it down into small enough steps.

Omg it’s like you knew exactly what I needed to hear! You made me realize my hobby is learning but not actually doing as I’d like to do. Thank you for eye-opener!

Brilliant. Clear. Love the “just do it” vibe. Thanks Coach!

These tips are awesome! I'm slowly learning how to be productive instead of being a planner. 🎉

I'm always seeing videos and clips and posts of people setting up or starting a new system, but never how the follow up with it and show it in use. It's why I've enjoyed diving back into bullet journalling, because people will show spreads after the pen. Dismantling perfectionism is also a key. I have a time log and I've decided that if I haven't logged my time in hyper detail, I haven't failed. If anything, that blank space in the data tells me information too.

Instrumental music is to best for my background noise, or Animal Crossing New Horizons silent playthroughs. The best method is to only listen to that background music/noise when I'm doing work, not when I'm doing leisure.
