Welcome back to another Monster Monday: A series where I'll be drawing a monster from Dungeons and Dragons while I talk about it's lore, history in the real world and what they're like to use as a DM or fight as a player.
In this video, I talk about Modrons; 6-foot steampunk minions!

I was having a really bad day so hearing my username really made me grin. Thank you so much for shouting out. I can't believe I was first to suggest!!

The quote is from Arthur C. Clarke. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Glad your back. There are not enough dice in the world to truly sum up how much I missed your videos.

Arthur C Clarke had three laws of something, the sufficiently advanced technology thing is his third law. Thanks for finally nudging me into doing research that wasn't physically painful.

Nice to have you back. My mondays feel incomplete without these videos.

I especially like that golden sphere that makes up the modron's body, it's just enough to reinforce that while it might be a robot, it's still from a magical world.

Josh is back!! I have to agree with you on this one Josh, never seen a spot for these in D&D because of how they look in the books. You've changed my mind on this now though haha.
How does a Grick Alpha sound as something to draw?

It’s always nice to see you’re doing okay. I’m happy to see you’re back, I’ve actually started hosting a d&d session on Mondays now so now I have more stuff to look forward to on Mondays ^-^

While I'm obviously glad that you've been taking care of your well being, I do have to admit that I'm tickled pink to see this series coming back.

It’s so good to see this again! Your videos always make me want to create. I love your depiction of this creature that I found too goofy to put in my games. I love how this creature stays true to the concept and still has that one, oddly human eye. I find it very interesting how you interpreted one hand to look more like a humanoid mage hand. I would so love to see an animation of this thing walking. Keep up the great work! I can’t wait for the next one, but take all the time you need!

Welcome back!
I absolutely love your sci-fi version of Modrons. I agree with you. I never liked the art... but I was always interested in the plane of Mechanus. Your art and ideas transformed my head canon.

Just found this channel last night via your bone devil video. I've really enjoyed the videos, they're quite soothing. This take on the monodrone is really neat. I'm always a big fan of a bit of sci-fi tossed in here and there in my DND.
I'd like to recommend a bit of an obscure monster for you to draw. The Ethergaunts, from 3.5's Fiend Folio. They've got a neat aesthetic and some cool lore and they don't get nearly enough love. Looking forward to future videos!

I really enjoyed this one! I also despise the design of the modrons and really liked your take on it.

I think the reason modrons got so many votes is exactly because people love their concept as a hyperorganized society of order protecting constructs, but really really dislike their designs.
I really like your design, although I'm a bigger fan of steampunk than cyberpunk, we definetly need a redesign for the official dnd modrons
