That's part of their charm. I think it's the wolf in them. I had a husky who always voiced her opinion.

And yet my husky won’t say a word- no howls, yips, barks- nothing.
The only time I’ve heard her speak is when she found an abandoned kitten in the gutter and she started whimpering at it.

Nowadays (7 weeks later), she and the kitten are best friends, the kitten won’t stop talking, and my husky has yet to make another sound.

Huskies, to my knowledge, have a ancestry of sled dogs. Sled dogs don't rely too much on vocal communication to pull a sled, the lead dogs usually moved according to the reigns, the pack behind them following accordingly. In modern days I believe sledders try and determine which of their pack are good lead dogs. So the lead dog or dogs isn't necessarily the alpha of the pack. Sure, sled dogs follow their commands, but you also want a dog up front that will be cautious as to avoid accidents. Anyway, people are saying in the comments that this video doesn't really explain why Huskies are known for being vocal and talkative. Yes, we see the fluffs like Key and Sheep here on youtube, but we are curious as to why the breed is known for their vocal nature, especially given the breed's background.

If anyone who has experience with sled dogs can correct me on the breed's origins and background? Please do, as I have lived in Texas my whole life. And my canine furballs weren't too talkative aside from my Terrior (The father) taught his pups to howl all night when we'd kept them in the backroom. He would howl... His kids would follow suit... It was adorable. But that's just dogs wanting to be in the main house, but with pups?! Which HAVEN'T been potty trained...? Yeah, not a good idea. x.x

My Storm is a talker... loves talking when we get close to a park. She also doesn't like if you stop walking to talk to a passerby and/or another pup.... she talks to me all the time...
