We are surrounded by devices, up to the point we are unaware of their presence, and we stop questioning their form and how (or if) they work. Marc presents three different anthropomorphic - uncanny, shocking - works that add a body to interfaces. Come along the speaker's journey while developing them and explaining how critical design pieces that explore a speculative future can make us reflect on our relation with current interfaces. This works spark speculations and discussions about the shape of tech, its role in our society. Marc Teyssier is a Designer, Researcher and Associate Professor at De Vinci Research Center. Trained both as a Designer from l’Ecole de Design Nantes Atlantic (Nantes, France) and Engineer in Virtual Reality at Arts et Métiers ParisTech (Laval, France), he obtained a PhD in Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Paris in Human-Computer Interaction at Télécom Paris. Marc was a visiting Researcher at MIT Media Lab (Boston, US), Bristol University, (Bristol, UK) and Saarland University (Saarland, UK), where he pursued international collaboration while
teaching theory and practice in Design, Research and Digital Fabrication. His research is focused on Critical Design, and how technology impacts human interactions. Marc is now Principal Investigator of the “Resilient Futures” group at the DeVinci Innovation Center, where his works
