"Ben" surprises me.  He can grow up saying "Ich bin Ben"?

A lot of names in common with English.  What happened to Klaus, Mattias, Jurgen?

In English, 'surname' refers to one's last name, instead of one's first name.
Also, Henry's on the list but Heinrich isn't?

Interesting names! Many of these names are popular in USA, too. There is definitely a major change in the trends. When I was in Germany back in the 80s, my German friends were named Norbert, Manfred, Alois, Helmut, Heinrich, Gerhard, Hans, Siegfried, Wolfgang, etc. Those were considered popular traditional German male names years ago. But clearly, that trend has changed. :)

As I was in Germany I had an impression that almost every boy is called Stefan. I'm suprised it's not on the list. But maybe it was popular in 90s so, that's why people in my age happen to often have it.

I love Germany so much, i would name a son with  German name ^^ I love Ben and Henri, i was thinking of my great grandfather's name :Freidrich.^^ He was born in the German town of  Bietigheim-Bissingen (Bietigheim); and migrated to Mexico in the late 1800's where he met and married my great grandmother ^^ I am soo proud of my German blood ^^ Great video!
