1 block (14 oz) firm tofu
Cover with paper/kitchen towels and press with a heavy object for 20 minutes. Slice into 1/2-inch thick, and season with a pinch of salt & pepper on both sides.
1 cup flour season with 1/2 tsp each onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, a pinch of salt & pepper
1 cup Justegg or egg substitute, season with 1/2 tsp each onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, a pinch of salt & pepper
1 cup panko bread crumbs, mixed evenly with 1 tbsp water (adding water to the bread crumbs makes katsu extra crispy!)
Fried at 375f for 3 to 4 minutes
Serve with some cabbage salad (I used my pineapple dressing), tonkatsu sauce & steamed rice. Enjoy!
