UPDATE: As of 2024 the Assad regime has been deposed of by the HTS in conjunction with support from various other coalition forces, and Syria has now entered a new era of post-Assad rebuilding. The situation is ongoing and time will tell how things pan out. Thank you to all the Syrian geograpeeps for helping me understand and relay the message to my subscribers.

Syria is so fascinating, there’s so much history in its land and it’s been an important place for human civilization. I hope all Syrians can leave this crisis behind and be prosperous again

It's sad with all the rich history Syria has, lots of people heard about it through the war.

Fun fact for Syrian geograpeeps and Gary Harlow: close to my hometown of Udine (northeastern Italy) there is an ongoing northern bald ibis reintroduction project. You can watch them from a very close distance as well as feed them!

The thing about Damascus steel isn't that we don't know how to replicate it, it's that we don't know how they possibly did it back then. Long story short, smith's in Damascus had wootz steel ingots, which has a very high carbon content, imported from India and then they would liquify the steel to get rid of the impurities even further and get as much pure steel as possible. We've actually been able to make far better steel for a long while (since at least 1751 when Benjamin Huntsman created crucible steel) but we just don't quite understand how the Damascus smiths were able to completely melt steel all the way back in 900 AD and create such a pure form of steel at the time.

The Syrian diaspora in Brazil has been very good to my country, since all Syrians and Syrian descendants who I know here in Brazil are very polite, hardworking, and pacific people who have been improving Brazil a lot. Syrians have taught Brazilians a lot and I am very happy there are a lot of Syrians and Syrian descendants making up the Brazilian population.

As a Syrian, I would say our closest nations are Iraqis and Egyptians. Syrian people truly LOVE the Iraqi and Egyptian people as we share a lot of similarities, plus that they helped many Syrian refugees and are kind to them.

As an iraqi i have alot ALOT of syrian friends and i love syrians to death
Also iraqi people like syrians and in the problems syria has faced in 2011 iraqis have felt sympathy as they went to very similar problems in 2003
Some iraqis who live in mosul speak in a syrian alike accent its closer to syria than iraqi accent
And in syria dair al zour they speak in a more iraqi accent than the common syrian accent
We share foods together that have their diffrences
Syrians in iraq tend to work more as waiters and sellers as they are more soft hearted and less aggresive they feel more welcoming and helping, not that iraqis are aggresive we are also known to be the most generous and giving people but iraqi people are known to be tougher around the edges unlike most syrians

We love syrians and they love us and in that we are blessed
🇮🇶❤️🇸🇾

Since I was a kid, every time I hear the word Syria or Syrian, I feel that I have a special love and bond towards them but didn't really know why!! I grew up, knew more about Syria, met some amazing Syrians and realized why I had all that "innocent love" and respect for them. Dear Syrians, I hope things will get better soon, and we see Syria with peace and prosperity again.
Love you Iraq
