Giant American Millipede!

North America is full of creepy crawly creatures, and most are pretty freaky. Spiders, scorpions, centipedes; they’re all pretty scary, but today, we get up close with the friendliest bug on the planet: The Giant American Millipede!

Join Cajun Boy (Zachary Gray) as we learn about America’s largest resident millipede, and why it’s one of the cutest, and friendliest bugs there is! As always, we hope y’all enjoy this video! :D

The giant American millipede, while not being the largest millipede in the world (that would be the giant African millipede) is the largest millipede native to North America. They can be found in forests, swamps, mountains, virtually any environments where their food and shelter are found. They mostly eat rotting vegetation and wood, but can eat virtually any decaying matter. Unlike their venomous counterpart; the centipede, millipedes are much shyer, and don’t bite. They do however, secrete a foul-tasting yellow liquid to deter predators from eating them. Millipedes are some of the safest bugs to handle; no bite, no sting, just don’t try and eat them, and they’ll be happy!

Welcome to the Life's Wild Adventure channel! With lots of adventure, fun, and most importantly, animals! Cute little guy!  They are always in the house here in northern Florida!  I just pick the little doobers up and take them back outside!

I found 3 of these guys while camping in Tennessee.

Awesome adventure! Thank you! How about your local dragonflies. I'm assuming you have a few species in your area. Would love to learn about their life cycle.

Awesome find Zach! Millipedes are such cool animals, and the American Giant Millipede is on the top of my list of favorite myriopods to catch for sure! I would love to see you cover some dragonflies this summer, they are very hard to film but well worth a look! Congratulations on 13k by the way, I hope you keep growing strong!
