They better do him justice in Season 2.

Isn't it amazing that all these discussions have been born out of one man's imagination?

The cannibal is extremely intriguing. His origins are unknown, his age is unknown, all the records of him are vague and no one can really tell his true size if he was bigger than balerion. There is an interesting theory that the cannibal was supposed to be maegor's dragon, but he rejected him because he was only a hatchling, and desired the adult balerion. Cannibal took it in his stride by becoming a rogue dragon and becoming well, a cannibal. Its not really very probable given there are accounts that say cannibal was there before the targaryens which goes against this, but its still a fun theory regardless.

He's probably a dragon descendant of a rival dragonlord family.

Sunfyre : hold my golden torn wing !!!

I bet he once belonged to a rival valarion house and has some hatred towards the Targaryen dragons

We never had the chance to see Balerion in all his glory and we may never will but we may get the opportunity to witness the Cannibal in all his terrifying majesty and savage splendor.

They better not screw this up.

I would love to see an episode centered around the cannibal that really leans into horror

Feels like he escaped the Doom of Valyria, while going mad from all the chaos/trauma.
Maybe he was from a Valyrian house that rivaled the Targaryens, making him more hostile to them

There seems to be a growing theory that Cannibal is a leftover of the Dawn Empire dragon species, which is why he's so hostile to Valyrian dragons, and why Targaryens can't ride him.
Edit: Cannibal's black and green coloration might indicate he's a dragon from Asshai, which is described with black and green colors and where Bran sees dragons stirring. Maybe Cannibal was a Dawn dragon and then corrupted by the Ashai
If the show doesn't make him look like these artworks, that's going to suck

My theory: the Cannibal could be one of Aurion's dragons, a Valyrian lord who survived the doom and declared himself emperor. After his desire to return to Valyria and rebuild it, he was never seen again, along with his dragons.

I swear nearly every non-canon successfully claims Cannibal in HoTD fanfics 😭.

Fun fact, Cannibal was confirmed by GRRM not to be larger or older than Balerion !

The Cannibal better be done justice, considering he's one of the big reasons dragons pretty much became extinct

Idk why, but I thinks I been obsessed with the cannibal, bc he looks good😂😂😅

It would be cool if the cannibal makes an appearance in winds of winter, maybe fight an ice dragon and bond with the prince that was promised giving Jon snow the largest dragon in known history at that point and the most deadly

Sunfyre ate what was left of Moondancer, other dragons also often would devour the defeated foe. It is the possibility of his connection to Tyanna of Tower that is so intriguing.

There’s always a “Mad King” in every species😅😅😂😂😂😂

And since we don't know how old dragons can become, he might still be out there. As he just vanished after the Dance, unclaimed and unridden.

I hope the show waits til the last season to bring out the Cannibal and give him 2 or 3 great scenes!!
