I love the beauty and versatility of pearls! They can dress up an outfit or compliment an already elegant look, by making it look more finished! I was taught the tooth rub truck early on by my mother, who had several, beautiful strands of pearls! Thank you for this! I love to see you guys choose a single gem and educate us about them. Thank you!

If you feel it's unsanitary on the teeth, you can also just rub two pearls together

Fantastic video! I have no problem identifying genuine v imitation pearls, but now I will hopefully be able to also spot cultured v natural. I would also be interested in a video about saltwater v freshwater pearls. Like another commenter below, I found the background music a little loud in comparison to the voice, it was a bit distracting. But as always, so happy to gain new knowledge from you all!

Excellent information! I like baroque keshi pearls.. You can also rub them together, and real pearls will make a pearl powder, so you don’t have to put them in your mouth..

Earlier today, another presenter said something like the cultured pearl he was showing had gone through MANY mollusks. Does that mean a shell is opened periodically to check on its progress...and then moved to a larger shell to continue adding layers of nacre? Or did I just totally misunderstand? (NOT unreasonable!) Thanks for more coolness and keep it up!

Your video is very helpful. I just bought a string of continuous pearls about 36" knotted between each bead, heavy, gritty. Can you tell by looking at a photo if they are real ?

Please do not confuse Consumers with these techniques which are not conclusive. Most of the features which you demonstrated about Natural Pearls can also be found in Non Nucleated Cultured Pearls. This video will only confuse the customer and not help in identification.

I would love to see some videos where you use the microscopes behind you.

Very informative and interesting. Thanks so much. But the background music was annoying and distracting.

What about tiny seed pearls? How would I be able to tell it’s real or artificial? As they’re rice shaped, it’d be hard to tell when rubbing them against my teeth.

Hello, Gemstones. Lol, does that make me your child? ...Anyway, I thought about something, and I wish to share/get answers. ... If quartz is SiO2, , then why is it, when 100% silicone is exposed to air, it does not change into quartz?? Heyyyy? lol
