Ukraine's deep strikes against russia began some time ago but have been intensifying and increasing in scale. Last night's attacks were significant, despite russia's claims of having shot down over 150 drones.

Also, the liquor store in Florida that you spoke about is 1 of 270 alcohol megastores throughout the U.S. They are absolutely huge stores and all of them no longer sell Russian products. Their stores are literally larger than most American grocery store chains. I don’t drink, but might just go spend some money there to support their decision.

Electricity is conducted via distant cities at 100, 000 volts or more. In order to "step it down" to a usable voltage, local transformer distribution centers are used. If such electrical distribution centers are destroyed, large sections of a city can lose power for weeks or months. Devastating, especially in winter. There is no need to attack nuclear power plants at all.

The Ukrainians are conducting defensive operations in Pokrovsk area, in warfare defensive operations do not mean holding onto every piece of land at any cost. The goal of a defensive operation is to inflict as many casualities as possible on an advancing enemy while preserving combat power. Importantly that strategy can also include ceding ground as required. The USSR used scorched earth and falling back from the Germans while inflicting loses on them in WW2. Ukraine is doing exactly the same thing on this area of the front. This is a calculated move and the media are making way too much noise about this without understanding how defensive operations work.
