Watching this now, less than a year after we performed it, brought tears to my eyes. Seeing us singing together, holding hands, remembering the joy, makes me miss it all the more. But we will rise again! I love this song. I love my choir.

This is how humanity is supposed to act on a global scale. Working together hand in hand, being fabulous, celebrating each others art, beauty and cultures.

This makes me think of the prophesy in the Bible where every tongue shall declare that he is God and every knee will bow. Many races came together to make this happen.

Baba yetu, yetu uliye
Mbinguni yetu, yetu, amina
Baba yetu, yetu, uliye
Jina lako litukuzwe
Baba yetu, yetu uliye
Mbinguni yetu, yetu, amina
Baba yetu, yetu, uliye
Jina lako litukuzwe
Utupe leo chakula chetu
Tunachohitaji utusamehe
Makosa yetu, hey
Kama nasi tunavyowasamehe
Waliotukosea, usitutie
Katika majaribu, lakini
Utuokoe, na yule, milele na milele
Baba yetu, yetu uliye
Mbinguni yetu, yetu, amina
Baba yetu, yetu, uliye
Jina lako litukuzwe
Baba yetu, yetu uliye
Mbinguni yetu, yetu, amina
Baba yetu, yetu, uliye
Jina lako litukuzwe
Ufalme wako ufike utakalo
Lifanyike duniani kama mbinguni, amina
Baba yetu, yetu uliye
Mbinguni yetu, yetu, amina
Baba yetu, yetu, uliye
Jina lako litukuzwe
Baba yetu, yetu uliye
Mbinguni yetu, yetu, amina
Baba yetu, yetu, uliye
Jina lako litukuzwe
Utupe leo chakula chetu
Tunachohitaji utusamehe
Makosa yetu, hey
Kama nasi tunavyowasamehe
Waliotukosea, usitutie
Katika majaribu, lakini
Utuokoe na yule msiba milele
Baba yetu, yetu, uliye
Jina lako litukuzwe
Baba yetu, yetu, uliye
Jina lako litukuzwe

I've always loved Baba Yetu because while the Lord's Prayer in English is usually sung slowly, with grace, the Swahili version really brings out the joy of the lord

Even when I don't share the religious belief I love this song as a Testament of human creativity, culture and art

This is not a song

Just a treasure that has increased the level of Humankind

Has anyone else felt the urge to show this song to EVERYONE? Like, I can’t stop, I need people to know how special this is, and it doesn’t matter how many times I listen to it I always cry. 🥲🤍

If there are songs that may lift a broken heart and makes a grown man cry without knowing its meaning, this song is one of them.

I've lost every friendship and failed at everything since I came back from war 45 years ago. I cried in bed one day and prayed to God. I told Him that all I had to offer was my broken heart. He talked to me and said, "It's okay to break down; I've got you." He then told them, "Trust me, I have great things planned for you." After three weeks I saw my life change for the better because of Michael Jtone Leshkevich and how God used her. I reached out to her after reading about her. Because she was nice to me, I started a business that I never thought I'd enjoy. His help gave me a new sense of community and purpose. More than ever, I feel complete and happy. Michael's help and this song have been real joys in my life....
