7:54 I might actually consider asking his parents or family members, maybe one of them is willing to take responsibility. I come from a collectivist culture tho so might just be me

My ex owes me £4000. She asked me to balance transfer it to my credit card because I have a lower interest rate. But she's so bad with money that when it came to take it back there was no space on her card to send it back.

Also, she was deeply emotionally and psychologically abusive. In the end I had to quite literally run out of that house. Now she's playing the victim as well as playing dumb. She's pretending the money represents shared marital expenses so she doesn't owe me it. I asked my divorce lawyer about it and she basically said if my ex wants to fight it then there's not much point fighting her because the court fees would rapidly exceed the money I'd get back. I'm salty but I realised I need to let it go.

I just thank god we never had kids and she never had direct access to my bank account.

Instead of an allowance we should call it our cut of the marital salary. 😊

my mother stayed home with us kids and my father worked a union job. when he got paid, he'd gas his car and take out his lunch money and hand the entire rest of his cheque to her. they're still married, going on 46 years.

Dave Ramsey's advice to a guy who's gf had asked for a loan was to lend money to a partner but gifting a sum that he was happy to never see again was an option.
