After 15 years, this movie stands the test of time. It's epic, but quietly elegant and unassuming. Christopher Nolan clearly wanted to tell his origin story. This film is nearly flawless in its execution. So many scenes are beautiful and iconic and stick with you. Nothing feels dated and the musical score is phenomenal. I will always love this movie. And as I've gotten older seeing this movie again years later, I appreciate that Nolan has technical talent which makes his movies a pure joy to watch, but he also grounds each one of them in a very human story that stays with you and makes it immensely rewatchable. This one being about Bruce dealing with his grief and anger and evolving in his beliefs with many influences: his father, Alfred, Rachel, Lucius, and The League of Shadows. I've come to believe that situations don't change us, they highlight who we are. Ultimately, Bruce is much like his father- idealistic in wanting to help those who can't help themselves. Although, he has destroyed the Wayne name through his actions, he's built a legacy as Batman that his father would have been proud of.

This was the only Batman movie where we left the cinema with a smile on our face.

That bit at the end in which Gordon tells Batman about this new criminal. Then he says "leaves a calling card" and instantly you just know who it is, before you even see the card itself. Great stuff and a great way to tease Joker for the next film.

The little subtle smile Gordon has at the end is just perfect. He knows Gotham is in good hands now.

So basically Rachel Dawes was the biggest player of hearts in the Dark Knight trilogy. First she said Bruce was an irresponsible playboy whom she can't love, then she says that she can't love him when she finds out he's Batman because of his war against crime and that she will wait, then does the ultimate friendzone by leaving him and deciding to marry Harvey. Don't know why he had hope for her.

We never said thank you to the greatest director of all time Christopher Nolan for giving us this trilogy. His response would be: “and you’ll never have to.”

Brilliant trilogy. Each one completely different to the other films. Begins is always my favourite as it wasnt about the action but the story. You know its a good trilogy when every person has different views about which was their favourite batman film.

Perfect ending. I remember watching this at the cinema with my mate and when he turned over the card, we knew it was coming, but... f*ck, what a brilliant way to introduce the next villain. Top stuff.

The swell of music from 0:50 to 1:04 is just heartbreaking

The one from 1:52 - 2:10 is its more hopeful reply
