Is Skyrim Anniversary Edition STILL Worth Playing In 2023?

As someone who has completed almost every quest on the base game getting the anniversary has been a breath of fresh air. I have been able to immerse myself into the world and get that same feeling of wonder and excitement I had on my first play through of Skyrim. There’s a lot of new stuff to be discovered in the Anniversary Edition and I highly recommend it to someone who has done everything in the base game. If the Anniversary Edition is your very first Skyrim experience it might be a bit overwhelming with the amount of shit the game throws at you once you reach level 20.

The Mods added to consoles made skyrim evene More replayable. I've beaten it yearly since it released, usually start of winter. And it seems like this is a sign that it's the time of year to hunt down Alduin again 👍

I only am returning to the game on console because of the mods, they really help for a super chill playthrough that isn't too time consuming - if you mod for better leveling, movement speed, no carry weight etc

If it wasn't for the mods i wouldn't even think about it

I absolutely LOVE* anniversary on my switch but i cant get it to work on pc with all my favorite mods 😢note that it changes the way one plays classic skyrim, ie getting free farm early makes one rich fast. Also the spells in Hobs Cave? Early OP. Etc….

It is absolutely worth it. I finished it a year ago and i started a new character and i’m replaying it a second time. Absolutely love Skyrim Anniversary Edition!!!

So essentially anniversary edition is Bethesda implementing some mods? Saving us some headache of going through the often mind numbing modding process? I've seen ppl complain about it but I'll take it if I don't have to mess with files and whatnot. Also, does anyone know if there are new spells unique to AE?

Maybe when it first came out it wasn't in game but there is now a in game list for your creations and how/where to start them!

Totally worth it.
I only BOUGHT the game because Skyblivion's development is in its final stretch.
I owned it on console a decade ago, and played modded pirated for a while.

I'm very impressed with this version of the game.

I’ve been playing this game from the start ! I can go countless hours ever since morrowind elder scrolls . I had to put it down for a while because I was so addicted. Recently found it they have for the switch and downloaded the special edition and now I fell off the wagon

Without mods Skyrim AE is still a Great game, with Roleplaying you have to be more creative though. Pick only 6-7 skills you invest perks in, dont join the companions if you are the arch mage, or if you are an ashlander Dunmer that worships the reclamations, you choose Azuras Star instead of the Black Star. Orcs and redguards would also not choose any stealth or magic skills, but stay in the warrior skill tree.

$20 is NOTHING for what they have. Coming from someone who bought the 20th anniversary 3 years after! Iv been having so much fun! Coming from a veteran player on my 8th replay for the 20th doing a 9th for a different race.

I like anniversary edition but it’s broken my game completely I can’t progress pass a blade in the dark.

I would consider it worth it if you have a steam deck and a main pc. it esstenaly can use steam cloud save without the hassle of transfering mod data using hardware. semless and easy
