James will, from time to time, acknowledge Kirk and how important he is....how many riffs he has contributed. I've never seen Lars do this. Lars should say, "If James never writes another riff in his life, Kirk will write them because he's a badass motherbleeper."

That's what I love to hear. I know the newer albums aren't always beloved as the ones we grew up with, but James is right when he said they weren't a legacy band, that they need to be writing to keep going. I appreciate when they say they're the biggest Metallica fans. They're invested creative whether I vibe with it or not.
