Thanks Sauce, I really needed an alternative to tofu and soy, this will do it. Your recipe really looks like meatballs!!! Thanks again!

I wish pea protein was less expensive so that I could try and see/feel the textural difference you noticed but for now, I am using soy protein for the same purposes and it can work wonders :D Plus, Marmite has become a staple in my vegan meat substitutes (after your recommendation!) - it is truly a game-changing ingredient especially considering I have no access to vegan beef broth, blackstrap molasses or your mushroom seasoning!
.
I am also super glad about your collaboration with a company you genuinely believe in personally - awesome they want to support you!
Have a great end of the week and the week ahead!

For a source of iron, have you checked out black olives? As in the canned ones which are actually green olives treated with ferrous gluconate to turn black. Because of that process they contain iron, and I always felt that they tasted similar to that heme flavor in Impossible meat. I made some tofu/black olive burgers once that were pretty good, though I'll mention that you should fry or bake the olives to lessen the olive flavor and concentrate the iron flavor.

We had some textured pea protein chunks the other day, instead of the regular soy protein strips. The bite was really good! Less gummy than textured soy protein is.

I live in germany and quite a few vegan products here use pea protein.
It works really well.

Here in Jamaica, we dont have access to these pea protein and most of the things you use, and these recipes are just watering my mouth. You need to send me some of these ingredients. I love your experiments, but cant try them. So sorry. Nevertheless continue to share.

Hi Mark I was wondering if you can please make a video on different ways to use pea protein isolate powder. I get this from the bulk sections of Sprouts and the only way I know how to use it is to blend a tbsp of it with water and add it to my Tofu scramble. So it'll be really helpful. Thank you sooo much ❤

"It's hypoallergenic."
Me, who is allergic to peas: *DOUBT*

I'm not sure about the hypo allergenic bit? Peas is closely related to peanuts and soy.
I'm mildly allergic to peanuts, and because of that have to be carefull of peas, soy and mung beans during the pollen season.
I'm not sure if it is the correct terms in English, but they are known cross- allergenes.

I prefer soy protein to pea protein when it comes to taste. Pea protein just has this off taste/smell to it that I don't like. It is probably just me because my husband doesnt mind it at all. He can't tell the difference between pea protein burgers and soy protein. But I can. The pea protein has a slightly different texture to it too, it's a little mushy compared to soy.

A lot of misinformation has been going around for decades about soy protein. The meat industry launched all-out war on soy because they want people to eat meat and not sub with soy. For people who got misled about soy, I will say this: the vast majority of soy grown is fed to livestock. This soy is all GMO, which I know bothers some people. If you are avoiding soy, don't eat meat because cows, pigs are fed tons of that stuff. Also if you're concerned about phytoestrogens, don't drink cow milk. Dairy cows are also fed a soy-based diet. They are also kept pregnant to increase milk output. Therefore milk from cows has enormous amounts of estrogen, and most of it is real mammalian estrogen, not only phyto or plant estrogen.

You should make shirts that say “Super Good Chew.” I’d rock it.
