i don't know Japan, but I do love Japanese people. In my city, São Paulo, there are many Japaneses and they are very loved and respected. My best friends are Japanese Descendents. God bless them.

Just returned from my 17th trip to Japan a few weeks ago, but one of the things that still gets me is how most of those things were already there when I first visited the country back in 2008, and have hardly changed since. Technology (and many other things) in Japan, despite being advanced, is pretty much at a standstill, and in many ways the world has caught up.

i would say that technologies like vending machines, heated fans, touchscreen menus, stacked car parking lots are inventions that are also popular in another parts of the world.
