Is Japan Really Living in the Future?

DID YOU KNOW Japan has bullet trains that can travel 320 km/hour? Or superior toilet seats that can heat up your butt, clean it spotless, and check your blood pressure? Or interactive robots that can serve you lunch, analyze your facial expressions and be your customer service agent in phone stores?

I just finished my 6th visit to Japan, and every time I leave this country, I have a hard time comprehending what I just experienced.

In this video, I take you around Tokyo and show you 10 ways that Japan is 10 years ahead of the world.

Wonderful country.
Japan embraces the modern world whilst keeping it feet firmly planted in traditions.
They have an amazingly fascinating history which positively surrounds you when you are there.
I have many happy memories of my time in this country and look forward to returning.

I went to Tokyo a few months ago. People were super nice, friendly, charming and charismatic and they know how to have fun! I thought it would be much more expensive than it was but it was very affordable.

This video made me appreciate life in the slow lane, country scenes, a small community, spending hours to prepare a special meal with loved ones, lazy Sundays on the porch with your dog. The word Ahead makes me feel like we’re in some kind of race but sometimes the simple things are good too. With that said, Japan is truly a land of innovators and geniuses. One thing you didn't mention about the Shinkansen is their frequency: they leave every 5 minutes. To me, that's even more impressive than the top speed. And local trains can run even more often.

Public transit is best when you never need to look at a schedule: you just show up and take the next train. Tokyo takes this to a whole other level: it's not even worth running for the train because another one will be there by the time you slowly walk to the platform.
