My atheism isn't simply a reaction to distorted interpretations of the Bible or theology. While I acknowledge that some people might reject religion due to negative experiences or misrepresentations, my lack of belief is rooted in a broader evaluation of evidence, reason, and critical thinking. I've explored religious texts, including the Bible, and considered their philosophical and theological narratives. However, I find the explanations for existence, morality, and consciousness offered by religion unconvincing compared to those provided by science and secular philosophy. My disbelief is not about rejecting a specific narrative but about finding naturalistic explanations more compelling and consistent with the world as I understand it, I also find the concept of a deity unnecessary to explain the world, regardless of how that deity is portrayed. Also, my disbelief stems from a naturalistic worldview and the absence of convincing evidence for any deity, rather than from a reaction to theological misrepresentations or alignments with particular philosophical views in the Bible.

As for your solution, engaging with the Bible as a philosophical work rather than a theological text is an interesting approach. However, my atheism is based on a broader assessment of evidence and reason rather than a reaction to or an exploration of the Bible’s philosophical ideals. While the Bible may contain critiques of ritualistic practices and emphasize personal reflection, my disbelief is grounded in the lack of empirical evidence for any deity and the naturalistic explanations for the phenomena we observe. I understand the value of exploring philosophical ideas, but my stance is rooted in the broader context of critical thinking and scientific understanding, not just in response to theological constructs or interpretations of religious texts.

Telling atheists they haven't studied the Bible enough, sure....

I also agree that if atheism could advance it wouldn’t keep people so frustrated and self centered, and it could help theism because theism needs just as much help

None of these are arguments for or against atheism. The theist has the burden of proof. You start with “I don't know, ” and theistic logic then makes claims of supernatural forces and counterintuitive claims with dogma and faith. Atheism simply rejects that. It's quite simple. Saying, “This doesn't produce good outcomes, ” is a utilitarian argument, but that has nothing to do with rationalism.

what a load of crap. even if the bible doesn't claim what say it doesn't 'which it does' most religion and religious people do believe in that idea of a god

But all atheism is inherently reactionary? It's literally the reaction to a claim, without theists there would be no atheists.
Also, correct me if i'm wrong, but it sounds to me like you're saying that atheism isn't rational because it doesn't interact with your personal interpretation of the Bible? I somehow doubt most of the atheists problems with religion won't still apply to it.

The problem with atheism is that it actually fails to recognize that it has the same problem as theism, and that theism’s best guess should be something to philosophically prove wrong as opposed to physically proving wrong. Atheism can’t win proving theism is physically wrong, just like theism can’t win by proving atheism is physically wrong. If atheism can stop wanting something physical, and really be mature enough to think mentally and philosophically, it can help theism solve its problem, the same problem that both positions actually have in reality

I have a problem with atheism only because it doesn’t encourage exploration beyond theology. All it is, is a cry that theology is wrong without actually going into it and showing why it is wrong. The atheist is doing exactly what he’s saying, just arguing about nothing and causing themselves frustrations that they are waiting for “God” to clarify but they will never get it. I think the solution to treat the Bible not as a religious text but as a philosophical text offers solutions, as I’m sure we all can see from the videos he posts on the Bible. Religion and theology are wrong, and they have like, overtaken the Bible as it’s grounds of support, but the Bible doesn’t work like we think or like theology thinks. I think the atheist needs to mature and understand these points. I understand the frustration with no evidence and such, as I was once there, but you have to move on and actually challenge the points you find difficult in order to help yourself, otherwise you’re just no different than the Christian that doesnt even know their belief outside of tradition or their family members. This was a good video because it shows the issues with theism and atheism, and again, if you’re familiar with this channel, he isn’t lying when he’s saying a route to clarification is by treating the Bible not as a religious text but as a philosophical text

Atheism actually doesn’t make sense, when you think about it

The dumbest thing ever in the history of dumbness is thinking the universe is possible without God.
