It’s a good thing we have an objective standard for morality. Otherwise people might go around killing each other because of their subjective opinions over whose god exists and what that god wants… and that’s NEVER happened.

The problem is that theists seem to think that 'moral' is some magic word. When in reality its just a word we came up with to describe behaviors that we consider appropriate for getting alone with gather other in a happy and produce way.

It's always funny when religious types bring up moral because the second you point out how their morality under their religion has changed they deny it or make up all kinds of excuses to defend that their god is still completely good and just. I mean just ask a Christian, who asks you to justify morality as an Atheist, how their god justifies the church protecting priests that touch, groom, and rape little boys/children. Just ask them and watch as they go out of their way to be mega vague and avoid giving an actual answer.

Let’s not forget that god also isn’t subject to objective morality. He can and often does change what is moral in the Bible. Even using god just means you’re deferring the subjective view up a level.

Why are the people with the worst morals always telling me I have no morals? I could give examples but do not have enough room for 1% of the bad things that religion has done.

The practice of abrogation is legitimized (as they see it) theological cherry-picking. *This* passage is contextual to Mohammed's time in *this* city .. but the Quran is a revelation for all time.
Even when they re-interpret it, they think that''s just evidence of being a book for all time. "We understand it differently to match what we know today, therefore that was known when it was written."

well, my morality is based on the history of human kind, our thinking about morality over that time, as part of human kind we all share pretty much the same thinking
