I’m from an area that’s in between a rich area and a poor area so I’ve seen so many dudes tryna front like that growing up that when I went to college and met my first dude who was from an actual hood it was mind blowing how regular they were compared to all the dudes fronting and trying to mad dawg anyone they see

The thing I hated is these dudes act like you gotta have opps be rep a set to be from the hood or to “act hood”. I lived in the ghetto for a long time, but I’ll never claim I’m hard or repping any kinda set. I just wanna go to school and stay out of trouble. Had enough problems paying bills, didn’t need mfs tryna kill me on top of that cus I was tryna be someone I’m not.

I knew a guy and his sister in school who were from the hood and had moved out of it. They were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met and occasionally talked about stuff they had to deal with in the hood yet never bragged and were generally super chill.

I later met two guys who wore ski masks on school grounds blasting shitty rap music because their opps would totally fight them at a school with two cops next to where they hung out surrounded by middle class suburbs and they constantly bragged about how hard they were and how they were crips and apparently assaulted a girl I knew with a knife that got them a restraining order and some juvie time. The girl as far as I knew wasn’t really related to them and minded her own business and the two guys in question were constantly in trouble for trying to fight and rob everyone despite the fact that they were neither strong big or intimidating.
