We bought an 04 Tacoma with the 3.4 V6 at 185 k miles. At 250k miles I figured it was time to put on a timing belt, expecting that it had been done at least once in the first 185k miles. All parts date coded 04 and belt and water pump were still perfect. Now has 303k and running perfectly and doesn't use any oil between changes. I plan on running this for as long as I am driving.

Scotty, this year I picked up my past office managers 2004 Highlander, 5, 000$, with 9, 500 miles. original tires were dry rot/ changed, had all fluids drained and replaced, went ahead and put a new timing belt and water pump. Roof and hood had paint problems being parked for 18 years under a tree/ bird poop, sanded it down and rattle can rust oleum textured paint for 40 dollars. what a blessing, I'm 67 years 10:38 10:38 ars old, hopefully this will be the last vehicle I ever buy.... love your site, but not as much as my 2003 Highlander...

I drive a '99 Lexus Rx300. I bought it for $1200, expecting to not to have it for more than a year. Six years later, I still have the thing because it just drives so well, and I still use it daily. Other than usual maintenance stuff like oil changes and tires etc that every other car has too, it has never had a problem I couldn't fix myself at home with ease.

Honda Pilot 2004 with 206, 000 miles. No issues. I bought it with 182, 000 miles and did a tune up, new timing belt, waterpump, serpentine belt, new coils, new spark plugs, new air filter, new battery, replace the VTM4 oil, new transmission fluid and every 5K oil and filter changes and is running like a champ.

I have a 2009 Honda Pilot, NEVER an issue. Replaced an alternator at 200k miles. It's at 245k rn, last Thursday I got rear ended.... it's probably going to be totalled. I could not be sadder, honestly LOVE the car

My wife has the 07 highlander last year of that model has 207k and still going strong 🙏

It is about regular maintenance and oil changes. We have a '08 Saturn Vue 2.4l with 351, 000 miles on it. The only major repair was a recent radiator needed replaced because the thermostat malfunctioned. We used Castrol Edge High milage full synthetic, and changed it at 3000-5000 max.
Update: As of Sept. 23rd odometer reads 357, 200 and still going strong.

Sold my 94 Subaru legacy with 310k miles because the automatic seat belts were jacked up. The 1990- 98 Subaru 2.2 engine is absolutely bulletproof.
