I have a 1995 Toyota 4 Runner Grey with Sunroof, and I love it! Runs like a kitten with over 230, 000 miles. People always leave me notes with offers and their phone numbers. I inherited it from my father, who passed away. It's a keeper!

What makes Scotty so good is his delivery, his cadence when he speaks, he's like the crazy mad scientist of cars, and he waves his arms like an Italian when he talks.

1998 Toyota 4Runner. 500, 000 miles here. Battle-tank. The greatest truck ever made. 🇯🇵

I can attest to the Acura MDX! My business partner bought one new. Put 495, 000 miles in it. The only problem it ever had was around 400, 000 a CD got stuck in the CD player and could be removed.

That’s it!

Great video, Scotty. Have owned a 2003 Honda Pilot that we bought new in late 2002. Only has 110k miles, so low mileage. Is now on it's 3rd teenage boy driving it so it has not been babied. Only thing now is after 20 years, needing to replace a number of rubber parts...not really due to mileage, more due to time. Gives my boys and I something to do on the occasional weekend. Has been an extremely reliable vehicle for 20 years now.

Just picked up our 2023 4runner. 4wd. Is it outdated?, nope not at all. Love it. Hydraulic power steering, frame, not unibody, and a proven 5 speed automatic, no cvt, no frills. Just a proven beast, and from Japan. Picked it up with 3 miles on it. Couldn't find a used one with low mileage any cheaper

Excellent advice on the timing belit and interference engines. I had two Subarus (80's 90's) and since I was young and poor both broke down while driving when the belt broke. Simple tow and fixed. No damage.

The Honda Pilot is insanely reliable and can go a 500K miles plus, if you keep up with the maintenance. We have a 2011 Honda Pilot with 280k miles on the OD. It has the original transmission in it with no issues at all. The key to trans longevity is changing the transmission fluid every 50K… and the engine burns no oil between intervals.

Scotty - love your philosophy on cars. You remind me of my Dad (that is a compliment). So - we owned a 2003 4Runner and drove it until 2018. The only reason we sold it was because it didn't have the safety equipment we wanted with driving our young kids around. Now we bought a used 2021 Honda Pilot Touring and couldn't be happier.

Bought an MDX in 2014 and its still running strong with 130K miles. Never a major issue. Just regular maintenance.

We have a 2004 Sequoia that's got 250k+. We've been having it since new. Haven't had to replace nothing but batteries and tires. It's our daily driver. We absolutely love "Our Betsy".

My 1993 Landcruiser has 340, 000 miles on it and still running strong. Mileage sucks but it works as a part time truck for the beach and mountains.

I love the 4Runners, with a big vehicle like that and gets 20 mpg highway, you can't beat it, I also like the way they look

This has: 2 hi, awd mode, 4hi, and 4 lo. The button you see puts it into “awd” mode. There is a button on dash left of steering wheel that locks it up like a traditional 4x4 if you want.

The “j shifter” version is the rarest. It has all I listed above plus locking rear diff on some models. 2000 is the holy grail for 4x4 configuration on 3rd generations.

Here in Colorado these are still EVERYWHERE.

Toyota Highlander might not make it 500, 000 but 2 to 300, 000 plus, with pretty good Gas Mileage, is good enough . My 2022 limited ( with third row seats ) is averaging over 21 to 22 so far , ( only 4, 000 miles / Not Broke in yet ) My buddie has a 2018 same model averaging around 24 mpg plus. For a large SUV / Crossover, one of the best buys out there . JMO

I own 2014 MDX and my wife and I love it. We only have one issue with wheel bearing last year since we bought it brand new. that was it. No regrets at all.
