Hi from Taiwan again !
My thoughts on your apartment...
It seems pretty expensive considering how small it is, specially the living room which looks like a hall with a tv .

.The bedroom is nice .I think its weird to walk in the front door straight into the kitchen ! The bathroom is also tiny. That would be like a second bathroom in Taiwan.
I understand that its furnished and cleaned twice a week, but considering the cost of living in Vietnam I think its a bit expensive.
Of course you have to take into consideration the convenient location, which is probably why it's pricey.
Let's compare to Taiwan, which has a higher cost of living (but much less than the US or Northern Europe, Australia or NZ.)
For that kind of money you could get an unfinished or semi furnished, three bedroom apartment with a big livingroom, two bathrooms, one main bathroom for the guests and one in the biggest bedroom.
The kitchen about double the size of the one in the video and a balcony and laundry.
Of course it wouldn't be serviced...you have to clean up after yourselves or hire a cleaner privately.
A drawback in Taiwan is that you generally have to sign at least a one year contract, more often two years and put down two months rent as deposit as well as the first month's rent. Another drawback is that occasionally you get a really obnoxious landlord who thinks he owns you as well as the apartment !
That's an exception rather than the rule though.
I've lived here 30 years and have lived in about 10 different places. The prices I quoted are not in the capital, Taipei which is insanely expensive, but in the smaller cities, comparable to Danang.
Great that you've moved ! No doubt you have a better deal in the new place !
Keep posting the really interesting videos and best wishes !

No washer or dryer? We pay 7 million vnd (300usd) for our apartment in Saigon in a high rise. Ours is a little bigger, bigger fridge, two air cons, washer/dryer, swimming pool, gym, and ping pong room in the complex. If you look on the Vietnamese websites next time you search for your apartment, you can usually find the same ones for a lower price.

Im in similar apartment but paying only $200/month. If you're patient you can find something better/cheaper. But $450 is still amazing compared to where im from in NYC!!! Da Nang as a whole is getting cheaper and cheaper but right now seems the best time to find cheap apartments because of Coronavirus(Im assuming the whole world will see cheaper real estate in the next months if this mayhem continues..)

Looks like a clean apartment in a popular and convenient location. $ 450 seems cheap compared to the U.S. but $ 450 is a lot more expensive than Viet Nam used to be. Good video.

“It really encouraged me to shower more... because I didn’t have to step over...” 😂 LOL! Yes, you were definitely being lazy. I cannot stop laughing!!!

Not bad for the price. My car insurance after my accident was $600/Mo... (tears)

JMO. too pricey for what I see. ya, its modern, but it only has a kitchenette and dinette areas, and the living room is quite small too. sure, its by the beach, but its not ON the beach with a good beach view. $450 sure sounds like farang price gouge to me...

Hi Ralph,
Thanks for the video! Seems like a very nice place. By the way, can we rent the apartment month to month or do we have to sign a lease term and put down a deposit or something? And does the landlady take a US credit card for rent and utilities payment or cash only?

Yeah it's interesting about the history of tall buildings. I read a history of New York which detailed that before elevators the higher floors of very tall buildings (much higher than four floors) were the very worst slum dwellings in town for the poorest of the poor. Writing from my 15th floor condo, ha ha.

That apartment looks OK for a shorter stay but it's small and the kitchen really looks limited for people that really like to cook.

Hi Ralph,
I love Da Nang too. It's my home town and really miss My Khe beach. By the way, are you Kobe's brother? :)
