The US just needs to make a deal with Greenland that gives the current 50, 000 inhabitants ownership of all the natural resources, but exclusive access to US miners, and full defense provided by the US. That would enable all of the inhabitants to become billionaires, while the US has its national security concerns are fully accommodated. Denmark can also have economic access as well. There doesn’t need to be a buying of Greenland, they should attain independence politically, but will need the US to take over the defense and economic policies, as the low population cannot defend themselves or support a large economy that covers infrastructure projects welfare etc. The Greenlanders know this and so does china and the us
