Greenlanders have Danish citizenship as Greenland is an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark. Trump can't just take Greenland, Denmark told him "No" in his last term as president. In April 2021 Putin filed a submission to extend a claim to the Arctic, all the way into Canadian and Greenland (Denmark) continental shelf and economic zone, as part of Russia's continental shelf.A situation where Putin is claiming the entire Arctic Canadian and Danish continental shelf as part of the Russian continental shelf. Putin wants the territory for when the ice melts for the natural resources and to control the Northwest Passage.
