But Greenland's estimated combined natural ressources is only estimated to around $1 trillion. And most of this won't even be accesible for at least 50 years, due to the thich massive ice layers.

So Greenland's estimated only $1 trillion worth of natural untapped ressources is completely dwarfed and ridiculous compared to Alaska's remaining $45 trillion, and Canada's $33 trillion worth of remaining natural ressources.

Plus Alaska is US, and Canada is NAFTA, and US companies already has total free hand to operate and extract as much as they want without having to pay any dividens or taxes of any real substantial amounts, and they are already well established for future operation and extraction.

While in Greenland they can only operate 3 months a year max due to the snow and brutal Winters, and it will cost many 100's of billions of investments just to set up operation.
Plus they have to licenses from the Greenland government first, and are forced to pay over 20% in taxes of all yield profit to Greenland. Plus they are also under current law required to pay very high royalty dividends to Greenland's people, plus the environmental laws are so much stricter in Greenland so many requested operation site grants would simply be denied by the Greenland government.

The Kvanefjeld site that was recently closed and denied further operation due to Uranium danger excavation that would totally destroy the area permanently, is a good example of Greenland's strict envitonmental protection laws secured by Greenland's autonomous government, but also Denmark and EU.

Combining all these factors, it would simply not make any rational economic sense for big US mining, gas, oil, to ever wish to invest or begin operating large scale in Greenland. Because it would cost so many billions just to set up operation, and be so hard to get permits from local government, and the cost/benefit for operation would simply not make economic sense when they would be forced to pay over 20% taxes to Greenland for all profit yielded, and on top of that also be forced to pay further very high dividend royalties to Greenland also.

This along with the many years if not decades it would take to set up operation, if even they were granted permits, and 100's billions of of start up investments just to set up operation.

Makes Greenland an extremely economically unattractive investment for US big mining/oil/gas companies to wish to embark on.

Compared to Alaska or Canada, were they already have full effective mega industrial operation already set up. Which is already US/NAFTA territory, where have already a total free hand to extract all they want without having to pay almost any if only very small minimal taxes, and don't have to pay any high dividends or royalties to locals neither. And have already set up shop.

And where Greenland's tiny $1 trillion estimate worth of ressources, where most is only accesible in 50 years due to thich ice, and they can only operateb3 months a year max due to extremely hardh weather, and also has to seek permission from local governments
And uphold tons of extremely strict environmental protection laws. Compared to Canada's $33 trillion worth of untapped remaining ressources, and Alaska's enormous $45 trillion worth of untapped ressources.

Looking at these facts Greenland is a very little lucrative and completely horrible economic investment that is extremely unattractive for big US mining/oil/gas companies.

This makes Greenland a totally unproffitable horrible investment compared to the already well established ressource fields of Alaska and Canada.

Yes, Greenland should definitely join the Union as an autonomously governed unincorporated territory of the United States. Just like Guam. They run their own affairs under US Constitutional Law, guaranteeing the rights and liberties of its citizens above and beyond any recognition the Monarchy of Denmark would ever allow. With such a small population unable to defend themselves, it would be the greatest victory they could achieve, by removing all future threats that are quickly bearing down on them.
