Our Pranayama Series continues with Nadi Shodhan pranayama (Alternate Nostril Breathing)! It only LOOKS like I'm picking my nose. This breath technique has so many benefits! It is a great way to calm the nervous system and relieve tension and anxiety. It is great for concentration, cleansing and is a fantastic headache cure! Alternate Nostril Breathing is a wonderful way to prepare the body for meditation for asana practice.

I can't believe how everything has changed for me since January 2014 when this video was released. Still, I'm here with you and with my yoga practice, the mat has my back, hopefully, no matter what happened to me and what the future holds for me. Im thankful for that and for you all being at my side 🙏

OMGosh Adrienne. I was looking though some breathing exercises for EXTREME PANIC. I figured that I had nothing to loose so I tried this practice with you.
I am shocked to my core!! I seriously thought (after 23 years) that there wasn't any hope. I thought wrong!!
This is by far the best breathing exercise that I've ever done. I'm still slightly panicking but I can hardly believe the relief it's given me. I will forever be grateful. THANKYOU

When you say, "As your teacher, and your friend..." you make my heart happy. Thank you for this breath practice. I remember when I first starting doing it and it seemed like 10m was a long time now, it goes by so quickly and leaves me feeling so very good!

I've been dealing with anxiety for as long as I can remember. Every therapist/counselor has suggested breathing exercises, but they've never worked for me -- they'd just make me more anxious because I was more aware of my heart palpitations. But this works soooo well for me because it requires more concentration. I feel so calm and relaxed. Thank you, Adriene!

Exhale day 18🎉 Thank you, Adriene, for this practice, this is going to be such a good tool to use, when life feels like it's getting a bit crazy and I need to take a few minutes out, or when my breathing is getting panicky. 💖🧘🏼‍♀️🙏🏻

Intention : breathe like I love myself

This practice cured my sinusitis and saved me from painful headaches thanks to teacher Adriene for teaching me this 🙏

First day of the December 2022 BREATHE calender. I came to the mat open minded and ready to start another month. I almost felt like I was in a class learning something new today, haha! Alternate nostril breathing can either make or break my practice depending on how bad my allergies are, but I managed just fine this morning and really enjoyed the short time spent on the mat. Good luck to everyone doing the calender this month whether you get every day or three days. The intention is there and you are taking time for you, and that is special ❤️

Thank you for the breathing techniques and I felt instant relief, following and listening to your beautiful soothing voice, this is so helpful for stress relief, feeling less anxious and a great kick start to my day. HOLY SHIT! I suffer from daily anxiety and tried breathing techniques before - they helped me a tiny bit BUT THIS calmed me down instantly! Thanks for sharing this technique! I will use it my whole life!

Hello BREATHE friends (December 2022) ! Well, I normally LOVE alternate nostril breathing, but my completely blocked left nostril did not help this morning. But I tried not to get frustrated and tried anyway :)

I powered through one stuffed up nostril. It was frustrating in the "I'll do my best" kinda way. But I was and am in good spirits on this Exhale Day 18 (March 2024).
