It's MOCHI time! That's right, after chowing down on regular Mochi here before on the TRY Channel (and even ice-cream mochi!) we're back with another selection of tasty rice-based treats. We sat down our resident Irish People to see what they thought of Mochi for the first time.

Mochi is a Japanese item. The dough is actually pounded rice. I always toast my Mochi before eating. The white powder s not sugar, but it is usually corn starch so they do not stick.

(okay, but seriously, it's Callyann. Her enthusiastic distress was constantly entertaining. She was awesome. Bonus points to Aidan though, the whole, "get up out of the chair" move was brilliant because his body language left it just a bit unclear whether he was disgusted and leaving, or moving toward a violent confrontation with Sean for the matcha puns. I'm assuming that was Sean, it sounded like Sean.)

It's traditionally made with hot, cooked rice, which is put into a big wooden bowl on the ground that looks like a tree stump. Then it's repeatedly pounded with a huge wooden mallet. One guy smacks it with the mallet and between every hit another guy flips it over. Professionals can do this really fast without the flipping guy getting hit.
