One of the few pleasures left about living in the US is the profusion of bourbon drinks. Manhattans and Old Fashioneds are my go-to mixed drinks. Hope you used a decent one, like Buffalo Trace or even Whistlepig (yes, we like weird names).

The old fashioned and Manhattan were pretty on point (the cherry is a modern addition) and was glad to see you all enjoyed those because they are really the best and most traditional bourbon cocktails from America.

Love whiskey so love all of these, except the mint julep (I have pretty much the same response as Donal), for the future also consider the boulevardier. It was clear Ciara was in her element. On a personal note as a ski instructor I do like her thoughts on what to with instructors

I would love to see a video where the group tries classic cocktails (oddly I would have named Old Fashioned and a Mint Jelup but there's plenty more!!). Or with the holidays coming champaign/sparkling cocktails. I think that would be great to witness.

Good choice of 1792 bourbon. It's lovely. I love bourbon but I'm also not a fan of the Mint Julep. Glad you got to try a few that are so tasty. I agree with Ciara that cocktails are a great gateway to drinking whisk(e)y.

I'm glad ya'll like them. I just spent 3 nights in Louisville (bourbon country) and binged on old fashioneds, juleps, and manhattans... It was a great trip!

For clarification, bourbon is whiskey. Bourbon is still a distilled spirit made from grain and aged in barrels, much like Irish whiskey or Scotch. There are lots rules defining what is and isn't bourbon from a legal perspective, but the main ones are:
1. Made in USA.
2. 51% corn mash bill.
3. Aged in new (unused) oak barrels.

Also for these cocktails, many drinkers would prefer using rye (whiskey) instead of bourbon. Rye being a whiskey with at least 51% rye in the mash bill.
