Coral reefs and climate change: A message for Copenhagen

Coral reefs are the most biologically diverse habitats of the oceans and face extinction due to climate change by 2050 ... We're hoping that the politicians and heads of state who attend the UNEP 2009 climate change conference in Copenhagen will make positive amendments to global environmental policy and help save coral reefs and ultimately protect the amazing planet we live on.

Thanks for this. Excellent presentation. It touches the emotions and still provides the science. It's so sad. I hope they listen. I had the wonderful experience of diving the Great Barrier Reef ten years ago. It truly is one of the worlds wonders. it's a tragic certainty that this experience will not be available to others in the years to come unless we take action. Thanks again.

A very good video with the beauty of the seas and the sad truth of what's going to become all this beauty if we don't take care of the seas, Nature, and Earth.
It makes us aware of the climate change effects and should make us take our responsabilities to keep all these beauty alive.
I'm a SCUBA-diver myself, and through the last decades, I've been a witness to the destruction of the shore and bottom ofMediterranean Sea. Let's react now... or it will be to late.

bloody right, also i have to add that we must respect the way the bush works - all the gums trees drop their leaves, bark and loose branches to make way for fire to burn it down. Many seed pods in eucalyptus don't open until fire strikes. Natural process we have to accept.
