How to start career in human resources

How would I get my first job in human resources?

I would recommend connecting with the local Sherm Foundation. So Sherm is for HR individuals. there's certain certifications that you would need to get as an HR generalist. And so that would be a great way to get connected with people in that community.

And to, look for jobs through that, as well.

I think you can always start with an H.R. internship or an entry level position.

that's what I did.

and, yeah, it's important to keep your network. You know, there are other groups that you can join in, and, there are specific roles that you can get certified in.

I would also add mentorship is a really awesome thing. And so if you're able to connect with someone in the HR community

and they can be your, you know, height person, your feedback person, the person you can go to

I don't know any HR professionals in my current network that wouldn't be open and willing to have a coffee, have a conversation with someone who's like, just starting and wanting to get into HR.
