When it comes to your career and what you want to do in life, don't let anyone stand in your way! Every industry is going to have its difficulties, it's ups and downs, but that shouldn't stop you from trying and exploring your opportunities in life. Get out there, explore what there is, and make those choices for yourself!

I certainly hope so. I've been trying most of my life to get into Voice Acting. I'm not giving up yet!

Now that I actually have time in my life, my dreams of becoming of a VA should be able to come true.

As someone who is young I definitely would love to become a voice actress and nothing will stand in my way!

I so needed this! At a con this year I asked for some advice from a voice actor (who was elderly and still working), her shining big bit of advice was "Don't bother", which was.... Lovely. Been grappling with that for a few months now, thankfully some non profit work I got almost immediately after helped stave off the doubt for a bit but this honestly has been just what I needed to hear, thank you so much sir!

As someone who started with your course when it was still early access, it's been a great resource and continues to help so many people! Thanks for the affirmation, Joe, and hope this can be an inspiration to other aspiring VAs!

As someone who will likely never pursue VA (due to not being a native speaker among other things) but who works in the creative fields as a freelancer and greatly enjoys both these videos and your course, I have to say that if you decided to post content about creativity in general, writing, etc. (loved your book series!!), I’d be glued to it. I really, really appreciate your mindset around these topics, and it’s always great to get a glimpse into it!

thank you so much, one joe to another

i feel really bad that a lot of other things in my life (full time corporate job, moving recently, etc) havent left me with time i can fully devote to progressing my va career, let alone any time to audition or upload my own videos, and i am constantly getting FOMO on VO as a whole. This video gives me hope that its not too late and that as soon as things calm down a bit for me i can start things up again without having any less of a chance at making it
thank you for always helping to hold that door open

This is really off topic, but I like the way you edit. It keeps my attention without going too much into visual overload territory

Thank you for this! I just landed my second ever VO gig through Fiverr and it happens to be a corporate e-learning video. My channel is documenting the steps I’m taking in starting a new career in VO from the very start and it seems daunting so far but I’m sticking with it.

On a side note, I’ve been waiting for my Warrior Voices info to get started and I’m really excited about it. I featured it in one of my videos. Really looking forward to this!!

Thank you for the clarity. I do believe that when people think there isn’t a career in voice acting, they’re probably talking about the “fun” stuff like animated series and movies, video games and such, because of the rates and things like that. But it’s true that there are so many other sectors. Heck, I don’t have a career in voice acting and I’ve been asked to record some lines for my company at times because of budget (even recorded some phone survey stuff a few years back, although thinking back on it, I was probably underpaid). So yeah, in the grand scheme of things, there is still a market out there. It might not always be be your dream contracts, but sometimes, variation is good and it diversifies your skillset too.

Growing up my voice was suppressed often, I wasn't allowed to express myself because I'd be yelled at.. same with moving my body like dancing and singing.. it was difficult to hold all my expressions in. But now finally after being free from the influence of my family for almost 4 years, I am a young adult who is eager to find my calling and express myself.. find the true authentic expressions within me and share them with the world. But grom being "stuck in a cage" for so long, I'm very nervous about expressing my voice. I feel a calling to try though and feel super excited about expressing my voice in all sorts of silly fun and serious ways. 🤓 I'd really like to be able to share my voice being characters from cartoons and anime, I love the work put into all them. I want to be apart of those teams and having fun with it all, away from stressful suppression. I'd like very much to be able to sing in public without my voice crackling and giving up on me because of extreme embarrassment. 🎤 I believe I may have a lot of work ahead of me, but I'm very eager to try.
It would be awesome if the universe sent my way authentic trustworthy friends who could help me figure things out. I've pretty much been sheltered most my young life apart from the past 4 years of healing and recovering.. I'm still learning what it even means to be an adult and how to take on those kinda responsibilities. 👀🪬🔮 I'll definitely give it a try! 😼👍🏼

So real. I've been finally chasing my heart by doing voice acting (and singing), and it's sometimes so, so difficult to wade through everything you mentioned that's trying to stop me. Thank you so much for making these videos and grounding aspiring VAs with facts. Definitely helps me feel validated. 🧡

Thank you. I needed to hear this today. (A dual-national actor/improviser trained in the US, now starting over in a remote part of Europe).

Thank you for your answers. A lot of what I see online like on forums are very discouraging and "Dog-eat-dog"
