Awesome video! I’m a huge fan of training while hand feeding. Hardly any online trainers talk about it, but from my experience, it’s the best, fastest, most efficient and effective way to train. You can teach an 8 week old puppy impulse control and to be gentle then quickly move on to more advanced commands. For anyone who’s serious about training their dog, hand feeding is like a super charger.

That is an absolutely brilliant training video. Your calm demeanor and progressive lessons are so impactful. I used a longer, round-about way of teaching my girl using a ball and play when hand feeding didn’t work with my newly rescued GSD/BM with high anxiety issues. Six months later she just graduated from advanced obedience where I used lots of liver treats but now I will start using some kibble too because hand feeding like that is such a GREAT IDEA! What a wonderful way to keep an energetic dog mentally stimulated which calms them down and builds the relationship bond. Well done!! ❤

Malinois trainer and Veteran Mike Ritland also suggests hand feeding in tandem with training rather than basic bowl feeding without any motivation or learning attached, especially when they are young. Great advice! I used to work at a shelter and I applied this to dogs that I needed to work with and sensed they were highly driven with food. Used that to my advantage by taking their daily feed and incorporating it with behavior modification and reinforcement - worked beautifully.

I just want to say how much this helped me and my pup! My Mali is a max male and I’m female had him about 4 1/2 months and I was trying everything to help get him to listen to me and was just losing patience. With my bf my mail has no issues listening to him. After watching this and implementing it has helped us sooo much. You have no idea.

I've seen all of this elsewhere, but it's important that good information is available from multiple sources. Makes it more likely that more people will find it.

As a side note that grey sable/dark sable coat freedom has is GORGEOUS. I wanted a brindle malinois (dutch shepherd) forever until the first time I saw the grey sable. Absolutely stunning.

I am surprised at how many people just have dogs and there is not real connection or thought or care or training that people do with their dogs. I switched to real food, raw food except I cook the chicken or beef because it's healthier and I care about the quality of food my dogs are eating. Most commercial kibble is filled with terrible fillers and chicken is not the number one ingredient. I agree definitely that hand feeding is spending quality time with your dog. the change of commands is even more important for a dog with high mental stimulation need, like most malinois and lots of working breeds. They love to be challenged and to be given gear-spinning instructions.
