This is the most insane European megaproject that I bet you haven’t heard of!

Ten years ago, a petition was signed in the Czech Republic to flood the remaining pits of mines in northern Bohemia near the border with Germany.

Czechs wished to create a land sea with salt water, which would be called Moře klidu. The goal would be to give the landlocked Czechs a sea, that via canals could be easily connected to the Baltic Sea.
