My favorite thing about non religious people I'm Czechia is that they don't hate Christians or Christian like other non religious people from other countries. They're not hostile, and the Czech people are great in general. All the love to Czechia ❤🇨🇿

As a Czech, I’m sad to see this in comments. The Czech Christians have no problem with atheists and atheists have no problem with Christians, I’m an atheist and I can’t even count how many friends of mine are believers, (I live in region where are more than 30% of people Christians). And in this chat, it’s all about arguing between atheists and religious people. Just live together like people, not like divided arguing idiots.

I think it’s because the Catholic Church was oppressive in Czechia, whereas in Russia religion is growing due to it being banned. Moral of story, don’t force things in people or they will resent it.

Even as an Muslim I have mad respect for those 11, 7% being loyal to their god while the rest of the country converted to other religions or atheism.

As a czech atheist who went to a catholic kindergarten, i dont believe in god, but i still do catholic holidays. Also there might be more catholics because here in czechia, when we count the population (sčítání lidu) nationality and religion is optional, so like a third of people dont write it down. Only around 34% are really atheist, but there might be more with that one third of "unclassified".

I live in the Czech Republic and I am an atheist. My first sister is a Roman Catholic and my second sister converted to the Evangelical Church. When their children were born, they were baptized by each other's godparents.

The only reason many Czechs are atheists is because they have become smarter and more critical in their thinking than most of their peers in the past who were subjected to religious doctrine. Now they are just searching for the truth or not finding it at all.
