Can this be the same cause if the rattle stays while idling but dissapears when car revved up or driven

So is the remedy for this new cam phasers? Or cam phaser actuators? It looks like actuators can be replaced on my jeep grand Cherokee 3.6 without taking the valve cover off, so hoping it’s just the actuator. Would love to know if you know! Thanks

Rattling when in drive at a stop light is often caused by something outside of the engine, under the hood. It has to do with the vibration of the engine. I have a Chevy HHR. For me it was 2 things. The oil fill cap was touching against the air box (depends on your car design). The main rattle was one of the aluminum AC tubes was rattling because the plastic clamp was not fitting tight anymore. I opened this plastic clamp and then wrapped electrical tape around the tube to make it wider. Then closed the plastic clamp. Cold start rattle and loose parts rattle are 2 different things. One is internal and one is external.

What is this cause any damage over the long-term? Should I just put it in flood mode before I started in the mornings

I’m having the same issue with my 2010 Camaro LS. It rattles for a few seconds then it stops, and won’t do it anymore that whole day. So what do I need to get repaired to fix the problem? Thank you.

On my 2010 Toyota Corolla I replaced the phaser and the noise on cold start up still happens. I put in a new timing chain, tensioner, etc too. Help!

Can you spray something in the Cam sprocket to get the pin to start functioning again? It just gets stuck right?

My 2014 Kia Sportage is making a ratling sound when cold and in drive or reverse. Put it in park and it stops. Maybe its the timing belt tensioner? Its on 160, 000 miles.

My 2009 Honda accord rattles for about 2 seconds when I turn it on than it goes off so that means it’s one or the other of those 2 problems correct?

I am having the same issue with my 2016 Passat, just the 2 seconds noise on startup but there are no misfires or burning oil so how urgent is it to get it fixed and how long can it run like this without causing more damage?

I am in the process of cleaning the oil control filter on my 2azfe engine, almost closed up from gunk ( hard dry oil) I may be too late.. Only recently became aware of this ( problem ) filter... Beware people 😭
