Simple answer: China had all the things it needed, so it didnt colonize North America.

I think a huge factor was naval technology, the Chinese did not concentrate on casting the ravage oceans of the Pacific while the Europeans kept adjusting their Carracks to withstand the Atlantic linger. A Naval technology brace became more apparent when the Portuguese efficiently and effectively started to destroy Junks with Minimal ship numbers and minimal resources. In fact 3 Portuguese ships (along with some 25ish other ships) put to rest a whole fleet of some 100+ junks. So pretty much the reason they didn’t colonize was how you made it out to be: They weren’t interested and since they weren’t interested they wouldn’t seek to over come beyond trading in Guam.

What the western Europeans wanted was a voyage to the east (which they saw as an area filled with goodies) because the Ottomans kept blocking all the major seas the Europeans needed to trade with the east like the eastern part of the Mediterranean, the Black sea, the Red sea and the Persian gulf so they felt trapped. The Portuguese found another path to the east but they had to sail all the way south to the southernmost part of Africa which is too far. So one guy (Christopher Columbus) wanted to experiment and had Spain fund his trips and see if he can just sail to the west to reach India but what he found was a huge land filled with resources which eventually made western Europe the richest part of the world and sadly the destruction of the natives from America.

The Chinese on the other hand had such a huge land filled with resources and never saw the need to travel elsewhere to get new materials so they just stayed in China. They had sailors like Zheng He but the Ming dynasty later saw that there was no need to fund huge trips for trading because they had everything already.

Why didn't you use the correct flag for Zheng He?

The fastest route to travel from China to America by sail ship is to take the advantage of Kuroshio current, aka the Japan ocean warm current. Globally it is the second largest ocean current after the warm current of Mexican gulf. The problem however is that you literally have no where to stop and that makes problems of replenishing the supplies. Unlike travelling back to Asia from North America, if you are lucky you can reach Hawaii.

You used the wrong flag for china, you used the flag of the Qing dynasty, instead of the one for the Ming

Sakoku policy was implemented from 17th century to 19th century. When colonization began, Japan was in a civil war. (Sengoku-period).

the Ming dynasty shifted the Silk Road to the sea route, because the old route on the mainland, central Asia was ruled by the Mongols, thus bankrupting its enemies.

that is why the Emperor was so enthusiastic in funding shipping, clearing pirates, exploring and establishing trading posts in Asia. this also resulted in the fall of the Byzantines, because the route shifted to the Egyptian Red Sea.
China, which had never been attracted to the ocean, suddenly carried out a large-scale scavenging, which was funded by the empire, and never again followed after that.

btw Columbus discovered the map of Chinese exploration and kept it a secret. no coincidence, Vasco de Gama did it only a few years after Cheng Ho's expedition.

time will prove a forgotten history.
