The RIGHT WAY to wire subwoofers to a monoblock amplifier

If you are installing a subwoofer for a custom car audio system you are likely using a single channel "monoblock" amplifier. Some of these amplifiers will have two sets of output connections. Why is this? Do we need to use two subwoofers? Do we need to bridge the monoblock amplifier outputs? How do we wire one subwoofer to a mono block amp? Let's explore!

I am so happy that you made this video.

As a car audio installer, I had a couple customers that were unwilling to take my word, even when I showed them the exact demonstration of continuity that you showed, that I had correctly installed their amp. One guy was absolutely convinced that his subs were only getting half the power because he was only using half the amp. I think that at my boss's direction I actually ran a second set of speaker wires to his box just to apease him.

My MECP advanced certification wouldn't convince these people that I knew what I was talking about, but I bet that a popular YouTube video that confirmed it would do the trick.

I had to google this 2 hours before you uploaded for a Mosconi 1000.1, funny coincidence. You gave a lot more detail than the answer I found earlier, thank you!

I just bought a Polk mm1 10inch 4ohmDVC subwoofer and in the manual there is a diagram showing connection to a single pair of terminals on the subwoofer, now with that connection you will only be at 4 ohms but it can be done

Im really glad u posted this vid, i have a different class D monoblock that has 2 terminal like this and my multi meter is or was older and mu kid attempted to ohm a live 120vAc circuit and it became um melted so was concerned about the ohm load to my amplifier which i usually keep at 2 ohms though i found the amp is 1 ohm stable but my question answered thank u

Great video on something very confusing when you’re newer to car audio!! 👍🏻 I do personally prefer to run one wire pair to the sub then run the other wire at the sub (Parallel). Instead of two wires back to the sub.

Does this also apply on old school amps
