Very good choices, this is a very similar build to my build. I upgraded the CPU since i found myself starved of processing power for general multiprocessing programming. Solid build overall.

Very good videos. Thanks a lot for sharing your insights. If you would make the video today would you change any selected components? If yes, what would you adopt?

In general I’m wondering which influence does the CPU vendor has. Does AMD or Intel makes more sense in general for ML?! After research I have the impression that AMD has in the desktop CPU area currently some advantages compared to Intel desktop CPUs in the area of machine learning. If I consider prices and energy efficiency in addition it looks like that AMD has the better overall package right now. Do you share this impression?

If you would have to select a series RTX 40 series GPU today what would your selection of choice considering performance, price and energy efficiency?

Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. It has been around since 1853 and is consistently ranked in the top 100, if not the top 50, universities in the world depending on year, publication, and degree program.

I want to build a PC as soon as CES2025 ends and the new 5000 series Nvidia GPU's come out. If I want to use either the Ryzen 9 7950X or X3D or the soon to be released 9950X3D what would be a few of the best motherboards to use with these CPU's? I know they both require AM5 but there are so many out there, which ones would you suggest for a budget of up to $350? I know the motherboard choice makes a big difference, so I am curious which you think are best for ML work.

Wonderful video, i started with machine learning and did some small projects for myself now i want to dive deeper into it, I have 2 config on the table:

3090 second handed with i5 13500
And 4060 ti 16gb with i5 13400

The 4060 ti setup is 330-350 dollars cheaper.
Which one do you suggest do you think 3090 and i5 13500 would be much greater or not?

Is this build ageing well with all the new (large) models being released? Great video, thanks!

Hi, first I want to say thank you for this helpful video!
I was looking after the components, specially after the GPU when i realized that there were many different models of the RTX 3060.

-12GB Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 EAGLE OC LHR GDDR6 2xHDMI 2xDP (Retail)
for 299€

-12GB Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 GAMING OC 12G 2.0 LHR 2xDP/2xHDMI (Retail),
for 317€

or the one recommended by you:

-12GB ZOTAC GeForce RTX 3060 Twin Edge OC GDDR6 HDMI 3xDP Retail,
for 313€

I would like to ask you why did you chose the ZOTAC and not one of the Gigabytes for example? That would be very helpful because.

And one more question :) now after 3 months would you still recommend the same components? or would you rather pay a little more and upgrade something? for example CPU or SSD or even the GPU?

Thank you very much for your help.

So I'm confused, does this GPU work with tensorflow cause people are telling me I specifically need nvidia geforce rtx gtx etc. Also, can I build this using a ryzen 5 3600 rather than a 5600x or 5500 ?

Thanks for a great explainer video. I like your setup and would like to build a similar spec but for intel. I am looking at the i5 13400F, what motherboard would you recommend in this case? Also anything you would change to the specs 6 months later?

question regarding the deep learning/ai..let say i use my current old pc setup ryzen 3700x 32 gb ram and and rtx gpu..later i want to upgrade to am5 chipset probably ryzen 7900 or maybe ryzen 9900.. how the data migration ?.. can it easily be done or it is better if upgrade spec now before running the deep learning model

Hi, I've been looking at refurbished Dell PowerEdge ((720) after one of your previous videos. If I have a budget of $2000+ and I can get 2 x RTX 4060 Ti (16 GB) for $900, would your PowerEdge 720 build make sense replacing the P40s for RTX 4060 Ti? Thank you so much for your help.

Thanks for the video. I was looking for a entry level cheaper rig and this is perfect. It says your template is private. Do you mind making it public?

I want to dwelve deeper (pun intended) into deep reinforcement learning, do you think this machine is a good start? 🤔

Would it be foolish to get a Xeon 2697 (18 core) CPU instead? It seems like a better bang per buck (second hand) CPU to go with.

Ps thanks for the video! New to ML

I want to get into AI, should I go for the Intel Arc 770 16gb with a 5600 or 7500x. And should I rather get 3060 instead of the arc. Also could you recommend some resources for me to learn about ai?

Need suggestions for processor. I am confused between intel 12600k and ryzen 7 5700x processor for machine learning. Paired with 3060 gpu
