It's finally out! Lots of great things have been going on since my last video so this one has taken some extra time. Very happy to work with numerous talented people on this one including Chokepoint Games of the famous Sins of the Prophets mod. Very great team with lots of great people!

Thank you all and hope you enjoy

It should be noted: The Elites admired the humans persistence, honor, and sacrifice even against overwhelming odds of the full Covenant might. This was one of the reasons some Elites joined the humans during "The Great Schism;" aka, Halo 3. They believed the Prophets were wrong in not allowing the humans to join their Covenant.

Forgot the part where 20 more covenant ships arrive after UNSC thinks they have a slight victory

You've achieved in 4 minutes what two seasons of a high budget TV show couldn't. An actual Halo space battle using actual canon weapons and tactics.

This was utterly incredible! I love the inclusion of voice actors, subtitles, more obscure UNSC warships, and the pyrrhic nature of space combat against the Covenant. Even victory was hollow.

That Halbert really lived up to the namesake of a destroyer, had some of the biggest balls in the fleet.

"I will not sacrifice this planet. We've made too many compromises already; too many retreats. They invade our space and we fall back. They glass entire worlds and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far, no further! And *I* will make them pay for what they've done!" -UNSC Captain

This is the best animation of Halo space battles I have probably ever seen, the weaponry design, the UNSC flak canons, the covenants anti missile point defense being little lasers was just magnificent

Can really see The Expanse influence in this---which is good! Halo ship battles tend to be very "space boats" style, and the display of measure-countermeasure intercepting weapons in this was a great touch.

(Also, I appreciate you're one of the storytellers who didn't forget that the novels said Covenant ships had magnetically-steered plasma rounds...)

My brother in the fight. This is absolutely amazing. I - the Able being chased by those 3 plasma torpedoes? BEAUTIFUL shot. I knew what was gonna happen but I was still freaking out a bit 😅 the music, the lighting, the EVERYTHING. thank you for including me in this!

Microsoft and 343 may be incompetent sacks of lies, but through the fans this franchise survives. Thank you for this.

I think one of the things that keeps me coming back to the Halo story and lore is the sheer tenacity shown by Humanity. Our people fight like a cornered animal the entire way, often utilizing unconventional tactics and methods of war that the Covenant simply did not expect. The Covenant quickly realized how dangerous Humans really were, and despite being completely technologically outmatched, we successfully waged the longest continual war against them in their history. Being the genetically chosen race of the mantle is just icing on the cake.

edit: after I left this comment I ended up coming back to watch this several times again, and looked at some of your older videos. You really came a long way with this one. This is really not just a fantastic battle scene, but one of the better ones that I've seen. This is on par with or better than some of the battle sequences on the BSG remake - why? It has replay value, and you want to see it again. Good job man.

I'd love it if in the UNSC comms you could hear the background noise of the command bridge crews as the commanders make their broadcast transmissions, growing more and more intense as the battle heightens.

Turned out absolutely gorgeous, the visuals, the scenery, the music and damn the voice acting !
What halo fleet battles deserved, alas.

I be so pissed at that damn commander. "YOU TELLING ME THEY WE HAD NUKES THE ENTIRE TEAM AND THEIR SHIELDS WERE DOWN?!! We been doing this shit for 16 years and you haven't learned to nuke once the shields are down?!.

Really showed how badly Humanity was losing the war. How it took like nearly a dozen or more ships to take on one Covenant cruiser.

As a sci-fi nerd who also happens to be a naval gunner, this is a Halo fleet battle done right! EPIC!

What class of ship was the lead UNSC vessel emerging from slipspace?

This was a joy to watch, the overwhelming superiority of the Covenant carrier is on full display against the desperate human defenders. Yet sheer weight of numbers, and heroic sacrifice, manage to drag it down in the end. You can easily imagine how nerve wracking it would be for the crews to watch as the plasma bolts track their ship, the ships captains trying to steer clear as they bring various weapons to bear. Then watching all the ships maneuvering in unison to bring their MAC cannons to bear for a simultaneous strike was just excellent.

But it's more than just the technical accuracy, it's the voice actors bringing those ships crews to life as they fight, not just for themselves, but for those who cannot.

A++ More please 😀

This truly brings the feeling of desperation and hopelessness the Fall of Reach novel had. The UNSC's only tactic of getting a victory in was to use overwhelming numbers and even then they almost always resulted in massive casualties.

I always loved how the Covenant was portrayed as a force of nature that always seemed to be two steps ahead of everyone else.

Kat said it best in Halo Reach:
"I know we're losing. I want to know if we've lost."

This was really well done. There's a specific manner to space combat in Halo, as described by Eric Nylund in his novels, and you've captured it very nicely here. One small bit of feedback is that the UNSC had no countermeasures against plasma torpedoes. No known methods to confuse or interfere with their guidance and no way to shoot them down. It's part of what made the Covenant so unstoppable in space.
