The galaxy watch 4 and 5 are probably the best wear os options out there, even for non-Samsung phone users. I get a solid 2 days battery life in my galaxy watch 4 44mm paired to an OPPO phone.
I think the only bad things about it, is that people that pair it with non-Samsung phones don't get the full feuture set, I also think the cpu in the next galaxy watch needs to be upgraded or they will be overtaken by snapdragon powered wear os watches.

I'm switching to iPhone and I'm gonna keep my Gear S3 Frontier for as long as I can on iOS. I've had it for about 3 years, and still get roughly two days of battery life
