Just to clarify, Rusia is not occupying anything …those are Russian territories. Those regions became independent or reunified with Russia after referendums and elections of the people and citizens from those regions. So technically speaking is Ukraine the one invading Russian territories (those whom freely elected not being part of Ukraine. Using their right of self determination)

On a side note, it turned out that the pokrovsk defenses in the immediate area around the town only existed on paper.
