I've had my Kindle for 6 years now. It's a 7th generation and doesn't have the bells and whistles of the more recent models. I read for hours at a time so I usually have to charge it every other day, , two at the most. I love it. I thought that I would find the novelty of the device tiresome after a while, but I don't think that a day has gone by that I have not read to some extent. It improved my reading habits a thousand percent. The idea of having a library at your disposal beats lugging around one physical book. Reading is reading no matter what the format. The selection of books is mind boggling. I've found books that you're unlikely to find in even the best libraries or you're looking to pay substantial sums of money for a physical copy. Most of them were free...or as low as 99¢. As a lifelong reader the Kindle is the gift that keeps on giving. I imagine at some point getting a new Kindle will present itself but for now I'm totally satisfied with what I've got. Even the current storage space is more than adequate to keep a diverse library on hand.

Got my signature edition 9 days ago and charged it to 100% immediately. I read for about 1 hour a day and yesterday, I read for about 4 hours. The battery level currently stands at 77%.

Great review!

In your summary of the differences between the regular Paperwhite and the Signature edition, you left out one thing that might be important: Ads. The extra money you pay for the Signature edition also means you don't have ads out of the box.

Excellent follow-up review. As an owner of the 2021 Paperwhite I totally agree with your assessment. I got the kids version when it went on sale on Black Friday for $114 which was an amazing deal. I have an Oasis 3 also, but the new Paperwhite has displaced it as it is more comfortable for me to hold. I hold the Kindle when reading without a case then use a slipcover for storage.

I think the long battery life in paperwhite is such a plus. I had the 10th gen which lasted weeks without charging much. Hence, its a feature the Oasis seriously lacks.

For holding it more comfortably, I got mine a pop socket. It's much more comfortable to hold that way. I didn't feel the signature addition was worth it. I rarely have to charge my kindle and dont need that much space. 8GB will hold thousands of books (I researched that before buying). :)

FYI the light sensor only adjusts the brightness, not the colour temperature. The warm light can work on a timer but that is available on the base level paperwhite as well.

I’m debating getting the signature edition. I already have the oasis 3. I love it but I’m fed up with micro usb charging. It’s the only device that I have that uses that connection and it’s a pain to have to find the charger when I need to charge my oasis. Also the battery life is so poor on the oasis. However I love my page turn buttons. I would have to get the signature edition for the auto brightness. I’ve had that feature since the voyage.

Okay. I purchased the new Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition and I have the Kindle Oasis 10th Gen. Both devices have the new Homescreen update. I am having several issues. 1) My ebooks will not download. Many times, I have to make several attempts to download a purchased ebook. The ebook will show it is downloading, but after the download finishes, the ebook did not actually download. I have to make an attempt 2-3 times before the ebook actually downloads. 2) Sometimes, my ebook covers do not download. I have to remove the ebook I downloaded, then the ebook cover will show, and then I have to re-download the ebook again. 3) The Paperwhite SE is very slow. Many times, I have to wait 10-15 seconds for the device to register a touch. I have better response times on the Kindle Oasis. 4) I had WiFi issues in the beginning. But that seemed to have worked itself out. The WiFi icon would show only one bar of WiFi. After several restarts, the WiFi icon shows all WiFi bars now. 5) This has nothing to do with the software, but Amazon stupidly placed the power button at the bottom of the device. When reading, I am finding it difficult to hold the device or change holding positions comfortably without hitting the power button by accident. Ugh!!!

I use my kindle with max brightness and 20 points of colour temperature during all day. So i don't think that light sensor is necessary. I used Kindle paperwhite 2 during 8 years and i never thought like that "It maybe cool to have auto brightness feature".

I tried it and will be returning it...I find it a bit larger for my smaller female hand an it does weigh more, thus making it harder/too heavy to hold up in bed for reading at night. Will keep my original (no light) Kindle.

Plus no ads & page flipping animation on the signature.

Got my 11 gen in October. It seemed to crash a fair bit so I replaced it but the replacement has just died. (A message came up that it needed repair and the full charge and 40 sec press didn't work. I'm not too worried because Amazon cust service is fine but I hope this isn't a feature of this Kindle. Third time lucky!

Hi man, enjoyed your video, so informative. I have a question. Should buy a cover for my kindle? If I use it carefully, I guess it is not a must to buy a cover. Another reason is it IS so expensive. 😬

I don't need any margins on my book, what do I do?
The options available on Kindle is not allowing me to do that.

Great video. Thanks for ironing out the questions. Please do think about some Kobo reviews too. They’ve just released some new models.

I had the older kindle oasis and wanted the warm light. I ordered the Paperwhite signature but returned it after not liking the screen and missing the buttons. It feels so light and cheap. I’m upgrading to the newer Oasis.
