Thank you for making this video for the common person who can't afford a Ferrari or Porsche and so on.

Nearly all the models in this video cannot be purchased new now and hence this isn't very valid.

I previously owned the Leon 1.6tdi and on my 100mile round commute across the Moors I averaged around 62-65mpg if sticking below 60mph. I now have a BMW 320d efficient dynamic and on the same journey can beat the Leon especially when cruising at higher speeds. I've seen up to 72mpg to work which is great as it's more powerful and much bigger.

I have a Leon 1.6 TDI 110 (Estate) and can vouch for its remarkable fuel efficiency. It AVERAGES just under 60mpg (true tank test, not what the trip computer says which is around 4% optimistic). It’s a brilliant car that looks great and drives and handles really well.

These all sound great, even the big ones. My old Dad’s Ford Zodiac Mark 3, only weighed 1350 kg and had 114 bhp. He never got more than 17 mpg overall and barely 20 mpg on long journeys. My old mini 1000 never got more than 35 mpg overall.... really hard to get that old carb right and tuning was c***. It weighed 650kg and it rusted out in 6 years. Modern car engines are fabulous.

I bought a 2 year old Aygo for £5, 500, I've put 75, 000 miles on the car totaling 85, 000 miles, I've now spent £5, 500 on fuel with a lifetime average of 69.3mpg, meaning I could've got a car that did 35mpg for free and I'd would've just broken even now for total cost (a free car probably wouldn't be reliable though!)

Lovely Jubbly, but a strange mixture of cars, I think.

My Peugeot 2013 508 SW 2l oil burner 54mpg all day. Lovely to drive too. Strange that my lady can only get 44mpg when she borrows it and she's a fully paid up enviomentalist! :D

Put this into perspective, 20 years ago I had a Golf VR6 2.8lt which made 170bhp, very rarely did I achieve more than 25mpg. These inefficient cars have nearly double the horsepower and probably weigh a bit more too but should still achieve the similar mpg.

I find it funny how every car he mentions as bad for fuel get better mpg than my car

When testing an Alfa Giulia QV, Autocar achieved 35.7mpg during motorway driving. Yet, What Car? recorded 25.4mpg motorway. Curious.

I have had a Zoe for three years. Less than £20 per month in electricity for 500 miles. If you have off road parking it.is worth considering
