great video. can appreciate that you gave it a real world test dealing with wind, traffic, etc. glad to see the urban mpg test, most channels gloss right over this. was shocked to see the urban mpgs higher, but you showed the math.
👍

Good to see real MPGs on real TX roads, just a little disappointed to see very similar numbers from previous Tacomas.

Surprisingly my 2019 SR5 gets better mpg.
35miles drive to work i get
20 to 21 mpg at 70mph and
22 mpg at 65mph speed limit in NV highway. Total full tank range of 365 to 370 miles per full tank, 2 clicks fueling style also 👌

Great real world test! That is exactly what we need to see. Have you considered doing the same test while towing 2000-3000 pounds? I am curious if it can get better than 14 mpg

I think thats definately low mpg for a redesigned 4cyl turbo. I can average 21/22 mpg in my 2022 trd off road over long highway trips at speeds between 65/80 mph on regular round trips from NY to Fla on Rte 95.

I have a 21 Taco and I consistently drive the speed limit everywhere and I average 20-22 MPG so how you can say the previous model gets 17 is simply untrue. This new truck is absolutely getting no better mileage than my 21. Also, in towing 4500-5000 lbs I average 10 mpg towing.

I get 21 to 21 1/2 mi per gallon every week(hand calculated)driving back and forth to work with my 19 Tacoma TRD Off-road.

Guys! 20 mpgs on the highway is horrible! I have the 3.5 6cyl and I get 24 mpgs on the highway and I have a 21 gallon tank. This is a disappointment.😮

The fuel numbers don’t seem too bad, I thought turbo engines usually exceed their highway EPA numbers.

I do have one thing I’m curious about, why do you fill it until it clicks, wait 20 seconds and fill it more, I think most companies say to stop at the first click, and over filling can cause EVAP system issues down the line.

The only reason to buy a mid size truck is better maneuverability and they take up a little less space in garages and driveways. Fuel economy is only marginally better than full size, if not the same or worse.

2022 trd sport 22.1 mpg 1 occupant at 70 mph, with a fiber flex tonneau cover on it. Current mpg numbers on the new truck are unremarkable at best.

Plus all 2024 Tacoma gas tank is only 18.2 gas tank, vs 3rd gen 21.1 gas tank.
Meaning more stops at gas stations…

My 2021 Nissan Titan gets 22 mpg on the highway.

Urban drive is getting 21 is damn good for a midsize. I has two 3rd gen trd offroads and they got between 15-17 in mixed driving and i hypermile a lot. That is terrible. Dont tell me the 3.5 v6 is better cause I have lots of time behind the steering wheel driving. Both were all stock on stock tires and wheels

That’s kinda disappointing. My Ram 1500 Classic Hemi will do 23-25 mpg on the highway cruising at 70 mph.

Less than my 22 Frontier 4x4 king cab V-6. Another reason that these turbo 4’s are not the best idea.

I'm in San Antonio and yea the mpg is disappointing. I'm doing 16 mpg in the city. I love my 24 Tacoma TRD Off Road regardless.
